QUOTE OF THE DAY: I saw this quote somewhere rece QUOTE OF THE DAY:

I saw this quote somewhere recently and it was kind of like a light bulb moment. Yes ! Inconsistency and lacking self belief do go hand in hand.

Thankfully for me, discipline and therefore consistency in my chosen sport/s has never really been an issue. If I chose a goal, or want to do something, then I simply 'just do it'. I do what is required, often even that little bit more. Because I want to get the most out of myself. I want to see how far I can go, and put more simply, I just love doing that. I love the process, seeing the progress and then the results that follow. And I have belief that I can do what I set out to achieve if I follow that process.

For others though, this can be a struggle. It can even be tough at times. Whether it be getting out of bed in the morning, or doing that swim session when swimming isn't your favourite or strongest leg. Or doing those strength and mobility sessions that your coach tells you will bring you benefits. Yet you still seem to lack the consistency in doing it / them.

If you have belief in yourself, in what you are doing, then you WILL consistently do what it is that will help you achieve what you want to achieve.

If you find there is a block there, then ask questions. Ask your coach questions. Get that belief from others, from within, from reading, from believing. Because when you have by in, then you will stick to the plan, the goal, the process.

And if not, then ask yourself.... Is your inconsistency a lack self-belief?.... And if so, what are you going to do about it?....

Stay tuned... as next week I'll look at sharing some of the ways I help my athletes with self belief, to over come fear or procrastination or other hurdles that may be getting in the way of their goals.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Healthy Gingerbread Cookies! RECIPE OF THE WEEK:
Healthy Gingerbread Cookies!

I made these gingerbread cookies last year and packaged them as little gifts for my children’s childcare educators and they were such a hit I thought I better share the recipe!

This recipe is very versatile so you can use it all year round not just for Christmas! You can experience the with different spices or flavours, use the flour and milk of your choice, can easily be made vegan, and you can decorate or leave as is.

So next time you are in a baking mood, whip up some of these delicious cookies, eat yourself, or make for family/friends, or pop in jars and gift to others.

Time to get into the Xmas Spirit! 🎄

COACHING IS FAR MORE THAN SIMPLY WRITING A TRAININ COACHING IS FAR MORE THAN SIMPLY WRITING A TRAINING PROGRAM....

Sometimes as a Coach you can forget about the impact you are having on someone’s life. And then you receive this. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

“After way to many years of worrying about what I eat and seriously under fueling in general and with training, I have been lucky enough to have Coach Sarah Mulkearns gently guiding and encouraging me to see things differently.

Every day is a struggle and some days I am ridiculous with counting everything I eat and other days I allow myself to fuel like I know I ‘should’.

I am so grateful for Sarah listening to me and without judgement, coming up with ideas to add a bit more here and there.

Today, post session I have ordered this meal and I know I deserve it, and more importantly I need it!

If anyone knows my struggle, can I suggest reaching out to Sarah. She is so kind and understanding and I guarantee you will gain confidence to add a bit more to your day!

Sarah is like a life coach as well as an endurance coach, helping us all to be the best version of us!”

When we want to make any change or we are seeking progression in anything, it can be baby steps, little by little. Often seemingly not feeling like you are moving at all.

But with intent and purpose, and consistency over time, you will start to see the shift. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be consistent.

MONDAY MUSINGS... It can often be the biggest cha MONDAY MUSINGS...

It can often be the biggest challenge as a Coach to help an athlete stay concentrated on their journey and not focused on what others are doing. Athletes can easily be lead, or swayed based on what another athlete is doing (or not doing).

Yet they seem to forget that every athlete has a different skill set. Every athlete has a different athletic ability, a different background, a different home life/dynamic and different goals.

By all means use others to push you when your session asks you to be pushed. Use others to help drive you, or stay focused, or help you get out of the bed in the morning. But when YOU need to go easy. Go easy. When YOUR session asks you to focus on YOUR aerobic endurance, focus on that. It is there for YOUR purpose. and for YOUR progression.

And so this is why it is so important to not focus on others, but to look inwards. Remind yourself of your goals, your purpose, yourself... 'Look in the mirror. That's your competition...'

The key is CONSISTENCY over TIME - what you do in one particular session, or one particular week is not going to make or break your season / key race. BUT what you do week in, week out, CONSISTENLY, with PURPOSE, and PROGRESSION is what will help you get to your best performance potential come race day. And you can only do that when you are training for YOU.

So don't worry about what others are doing. Don't worry that you are doing less, or more, or different than them. Because you ARE different.... And that's the amazing thing about you. ;)

CPC CUP CARNIVAL CAMP - DAY 4 The final leg of ou CPC CUP CARNIVAL CAMP - DAY 4

The final leg of our virtual training camp and WOW what can I say! I am so incredible proud, inspired and truly humbled to be able to coach and be a part of the health, fitness, and endurance journey of each of our amazing athletes.

Our final day was one to relish. With athletes enjoying the option of an endurance ride or run - depending on their focus. A chance to finish off our final day being proud of what they have achieved in just 4 days. We rounded it off with a LIVE camp wrap up and Coaches Q&A with Coach @triathlete_motivation and guest Coach @coach_karalandells. A great way to round of the day before everyone enjoyed the rest of their Cup day in some beautiful sunshine and some amazing locations.

As I now take a recovery walk along the banks of the Murray River, in a town that I now call home, reflecting on an amazing 4 days of training, this camp is something that I am super proud of.

To pull together athletes from literally all over Australia, bring them together for one common goal of building comraderie while helping them push their boundaries physically, but often mentally also, to witness them embrace the challenges, to share that with their fellow athletes and walk away feeling a huge sense of accomplishment is nothing short of what we strive for as coaches.

I knew when I planned this weekend awhile ago it would be great. But I didn’t realise how much everyone really needed this.

The benefits achieved and received from their hard work will far exceed just the physical ones.

THANK YOU team, for filling up my Coaching Cup. 🙌🏻🌟🥂
